SIR G. GREY AT AUCKLAND.
[Br Telegraph.] Sir George Grey addressed the Auckland City East electors in tbe Lome street Hall last Friday night. He reviewed the Premier's speech, and said, the effect of an elective Upper House would, be to double the representation of wealth and property. He inteuded to devote his life to obtaiuiug for the people political rights and the public estate of which they had breen robbed. In answer to a question. Sir George Grey said he atteuded the Irish Land League at Wellington as he would a meeting respecting the land question in England and Scotlaud. He did not hear a speaker say he wished all the landlords in Ireland were shot, as he left the meeting, owing to indisposition, before it was over. Had he heard such language he would hays interfered and repudiated it. A vote of confidence was carried enthusiastically.
