In pursuance of "The Regulation of Elections Act, 1881," I, Alfred Douglass, Returning Officer for the electoral District of Mataura, do hereby give notice, that by virtue of a writ bearing date the ninth day of November, 1881, ander the hand of the clerk of the writs, an election will be held fbr the return of one qualified person to serve as member for the said Electoral District, : and that the nomination of candidates will take ( ]Jlace at Matapra Bridge Courthouse, at noon, on the first day of December, 1881, and that the Poll, if necessary, will be taken at the several Polling places of the said District, on the 9th day of December, 1881.
