Gentlemen, — I have to thank you for the various requisitions which have been addressed to me from different parts of the district, asking me to contest the seat for Wallace as your representative in the General Assembly, and I have much pleasure in announcing that I intend to accept your invitation, and to place my best services at your disposal. 1 shall take an early opportunity of making my views more fully known to you through the columns of the press, and thereafter of meeting you personally in the various centres.
