TLe Union S q . Company's Rotomahana left Dunedin at 0" p m. on Fnday, and experienced'a very strong head wind on her passage down to the Bluff, which delayed her arrival, .there' - until-*lO a.m. on Saturday. After discharging her inward cargo the Rotomahana took in a quantity of grain and sundries, and sailed for Melbourne at 1 p.m. She had a full complement of passengers. The eh'-r* -TeeAc Roadman, received the last of. "H6v v.svgx} ••»*. ;.»r>;-'<'!Xnn.,-*-Xi«rri;iy moriiing;' sij.id »-i IfMu- •*■'■.■ i' , -*-Vb*'>- was stowed away and; iter hatches oa jeady ior sea; The Jessie as usual takes a good cargo, consisting of 3914 bales of wool, 1«17 bales' of rabbitskins, and 57 bales of sheepskins, besides a quantity of oats, shells, and sundries.. . Every effort will be made to clear at. the Customs to-day, so that she will be ready ito. ;sail either this afternoon or early to-morrow. Her stay iv port this season has been shortef than last, although wool : ;has been much slower in coming forward, owing, it is said, partly to seveial of the early- clips having been sent over tbe Waimea PJains railway to Dunedin, and partly through many of the stations being late in starting shearing. No time has been lost, however, in getting the wool on board as soon as possible after its arrival here. The Jessie i.s in good trim, aud the new preparation which was spread over the bottom/of the ship in London seems to prevent fouling to auy extent, so that there is everything in favor of her making a' speedy run home. Since her arrival in port the cleanly and seamaulike state in which she Uas been kept, reflects the greatest credit upon all on board, and both Captain Gibson aud bis officers have earned golden, opinions from many friedds owing to' the courteous manner in which tbey have treated visitors 011 board. The ship Wai ai*a received the first of her cargo, consisting of a quantity of sperm oil, alongside on Saturday afternoon. This vessel, having nothing to do but take in cargo as fast as it comes forward, .should have quick despatch. The ship May Queen has now discharged all her inward cargo, but it has not transpired yet whether she will go on loading or follow the Waitara. The brigantine Annie Hill has commenced taking iv timber for Lyttelton. Of all the coasters which have visited the port, ou",shipping reporter thinks the Annie Hill .-deserves the pal 111 for cleanliness and neatness generally. Captain Arndt evidently takes great pride in keeping his vessel a morsel. The cutter Kent has been re-launched, and is now taut, staunch, and strong. The cutter Rosa will take hcr-place on the beach to have new decks put in, and undergo a thorough overhaul. ,
