Edward -Menlove^Esq., Windsor Park, 166 Crossbred wethers at 11s 6d to 11s 9d. , On account, pf. R. Oliver, Esq., Corriedale, 75 half-bred ewes at 10s. On account of Messrs Ross Bros., 160 crossbred wethers at from 10s 9d to 11s, and 150 crossbred ewes at 9s 6d. On account of Mr P. Williamson, W crossbred kt 10s 6d. On account of Mr Marshall, 34 crossbreds at 10s 6d. On account of ~Mr H7C. Cameron, 121 crossbred ewes at 9s 3d,- and- 7 Leicester ew&3 at l4s. We also sold on' account of Mr Dornwell 300 broken mouthed merino wethers (stores) at 3s. We quote prime mutton at 2d . per lb. fc'at Lambs. — About 80 penned. We sold 38-at fiomr9stolos 6d. , r Store Cattle. — There is a fair demand for quiet, well-grown bollocks suitable for turnips. The number offering is, however, limi- j ted. Privately, and at auction during the week, we have sold 140 head mixed cattle, at from '£2' to £5 17s 6d per head, Store Sheep. — We have uo sales to report. Country Sales. — We held our monthly sale at Palnierston on Thursday last. There was a large attendance of buyers from all parts of the district. We sold 600 6 aud 8-tooth crossbred i ewes at 7s 9e3, .' aijd '200 fall-mouthed merino ewes at 4s ; 80 head mixed stoca cattle as follows :■ —^2o one and two years old. steers and heifers at £2 ; 40 cows at from £3 10 to £4 7s 6d ; anl 20 three and four years old bullocks at from £4 ss. to £5 17s 6d. We also sold a -team of 8' medium draught geldings at from £9 10s to £34 ; waggon, harness, &c, brought .fair- prices. At Mosgiel, oa Tuesday, 11th inst., we held a clearing sale by auction, on account of Mr Alexander Stevenson—Draught mares and geldings brought from £20 10s to '^55 ; dairy cows from £8 10s to £11 15s : farming implements, grain, &c , brought full values: Sheepskins. — We held our weekly sale on Monday last. The trade was well represented, but .owing to the;adverse news that had been received during the past week prices suffered a decline of f rpm 6d, to 9d a skin. Butchers' eross-breds brought from 2s lOd to 3s Id ; . merinos,-ls 6d to Is Bd. ; lambskins, 3s ; station skins sold at from Is 2d to 4s 9d. .HiSes- are in : goodi inquiry,. During the week we have sold 103 at late quotations. Tallow.— We did not sell any this week. Grain. — Wheat is in moderate request. Quotations are, however, without any charge. Oats are in rather better demand, and last week's values are well maintained. Barley : Unsaleable.
