The weather was showery, the attendance good, and the Marquis of Normanby was present. For the Hurdle Race eleven started. Jack Tar winning easily, with Welshman second, and Larrikin third. Boyd, a jockey, was thrown and killed at a hurdle. The Corinthian. ,Cup fell to Hotspur, Cowarre 2, and Carlisle 3. The race was won by a neck. The Produce Stakes was won easily by South (?). with Hamilton 2. Twelve started for " the Australian Cup— Sayanaka, lj; Bosworth, 2 ; Swiveller, 3. It was a fine race. Time— lmin. 4sec.
