The Union Steamship Co.'s s.s. Arawata, Captain Underwood, sailed from Hobson's Bay at mid-day on the 30th January, with the Snez mail, 64 saloon, 51 steerage passengers, 400 tons of: cargo, and 1 horse and 1 foal, and arrivedat Bluff Harbor- at 5.20 p.m. on the 3rd February. She cleared' Port Phillip Heads at 2.26 p.m., and passed Swan Island at ' 9 a.m. next day. Experienced fresh S.W. winds during the" run across, passed the Solanders at noon on the 3rd inst., and arrived afthe Bluff at 6 p.m. Landed passengers and 75 tons of cargo, and was to leave at daylight this morning for Dunedin. When the Arawata was running through the . Strait yesterday, she passed the barque Bobycito off Centre Island, steering east. She asked to be reported, and is bound to Dunedin in all likelihood. Loading operations on board the brigantine: Circe were at a standstill during the! whole of yesterday, no timber having been sent down to her. ■' ; ; : '. '• .' Australian Sovereign was also idle during the greater part of the day from the same cause.: If the timber does not come forward .more feelythan at present, this vessel will riot be able to leave port for another fortnight. ; ; ;.
