Oats are in favor, and the sales making evidflrc a strong market. Quotations range from 3? 4d to Ss, 10* d, according to «ample. At auction 1,000 bushels ware cleared off, when milling brought 3s IOR and feeding qualities from 3s 5d to 3s Bd. Privately, 500 bags were disposed of at 3s 8d to 8s 10£ d. Maize is quoted at 4a for sound, and trade sales Br* making at the price ; for we»vi!y 3s 10d to 3s ll *d is ruling. Boxes are wanted at Is 3d for good common, and sales of fine congou are mentioned at Is lOd to 2.. 700 boxe. fancy teas and gunpowders, bo.ideß congou?, were sold by auction. Fish is iv very good request. Sales of ling aro making at 6f cl ; inferior brands of lib salmon hive been sold at'l'3s6d. For best brands, however, there is rather a better feeling, and hoi lers begin to look for an advance on 14?. A shipment of 150 hdf-barrel* pickled salmon has been sold to arrive, on private terms. Sales hive also been made of a portion of a shipment now on the wav from Sydney. Sales of malt aro makinp. A lir.e of 30 tanks old malt has been placed at 10s. Kent hops have an inquiry, and sales are reported at 2< 3d.
