THE CONCERT AND THE DRAMATIC PERFORMANCE.
-ffl. (TO THE EDITOB OF THE TIMES.) Sir, — It is to be hoped, notwithstancU ing counter attractions, that Mr West will receive a bumper benefit to-night. He deserves it! Why should strangers step in, and take from those who have so worthily worked for it? Theatrical companies, as a rule, are not beneficial to the town, and \ do trust Mr West will receive'the due reward! of his wprtb.— f am, &c, ' Teuth. 16th March, 1876. [Whilst having the highest respect for Mr Wpst, and hoping that ins cqncert may prQve 'yery Successful, We qannot concur with our co-respondent in thinking that high-class dramatic entertainments are of no benefit to the town.— Ed.
