MR CUTHBERTSON'S MEETING.
0 (to the editor of ■ijii-: :i\i>-;.s) Sir, — In your short report of Mr Cuthbertson's meeting on Wednesday evening, there occurs the following pas.s.igu: — •' Air Joyce tried a passage at arms with Mr Outhbertson, but was at all points most ignominiously foiled. Mr Cuthbertson's position was found impregnable on every line of the Abolition Act. Ihe candidate for "Wallace retired, thoroughly discomfited, from his first gioui.d He tried next the field of the Legislative Council, but had uo better fate. ' I>o you, sir, think it quite fair un the part uf a reporter to pronounce judgment in such very decided terms, without; giving at least an outline ot the questions and answers 1 As to whether success or failure attended my endeavor to elicit the facts of the case, I have only to say that I waa perfectly satisfied with the deciaion of the meeting. -1 urn, tiir, youre, ifcc, Jajiks 2, Joyce.
