LiiuooEirnic Limestone.— Not lone since, says t tie Ou^o Daily Timi s, Messrs Arthur and Pocherty, two well known minors Oil tin' West Coast of this island, discovered near Jackson's bay what they conceived to b-i a valuable deposit of lithographic limestone. Ihey acquired the freehold of a considerable area ot Inn I, including the seams of this stone which they Dad discovered, and they then took steps to have the quality of the stone reported upon by competent persone. With that view Mr Arthur, who was not iong ago in Du'ieclin, proceeded to Melbourne, and from that place he now writes that he lisa had slabs tried at tlm Government printing offices and at several of the principal lithographers. The results, he aids, have been moot satisfactory. Sir A'lhur asserts that the deposit of this stone is very extensive, and that as soon as the qu-irry is properly opened up, lithographers will no longer have to look to Europe for their supply of stonea. We understand that he v seeking assistance to enable him to work the quarry, and aa sivat facilities exist for doing so and lor shipping the material, we imagine that a small amount of capital will be required. We trust soon to hear that Mr Arthur's efforcs have been brought to a euccseaful issue.
