RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

(Before J. Turnbull, Esq., E.M-) Tuesday, Deckjibeu 14. Tapper v. Bakeu. — Claim for £5 10a 5d- Judgment for the plaintiff, with costs, 13.-. Hannah y- Allen* alias Chestox. — Claim for £5 4s Id for goods sold and delivered- Judgment for plaintiff", with costs, 13s. Newsox v- Cuestox- — Claim for £4 4s for reut of a cottage. Judgment for plaintiff, with costs, 9s. Wilton v. Lenxee. — hi this case the plaintiff sued for £i 12s, wages due, as per agreement. Judgment for plaintiff, with costs, 9s. Hare v. Suttox. — Mr Wade for the defendant. The plaintilF sued for the recovery of £25 13s sd. The defendant admitted tho claim, but pleaded a set oil' amounting to £13 Uh 3d, the value of bags delivered to the plaintiff, who deuied that he had ever received them. The evidence was exceedingly conflicting a.s to the delivery or non-delivery of the b.igs His Worship held that tho sot-oft' had been clearly proved, and, making allowance for Si bags which should be returned to the defendant, ho gave judgment for the plaintiff m the sum of £10 17s 6d, each party to pay hi* own coats. Hall v- Adamsox. — 'Claim for £2 Ss, balance of account duo for the erection of a fence. After hearing evidence, His Worship gave judgment for the plaintiff in the sum of JCI 10s, aad costs, 9s, ■
