The Bank of New Zealand halfyearly meeting, held to day, showed a net profitfor the halfyear.after providing for bad and doubtful debts of £47,102 ; balance undivided last half year, £16,974, total, £64,077. A dividend of 10 per ceut, and a bonus of five shillings per share, was declared. At the Bank of New Zealand halfyearly meetiHg, Mr Stone, in moving the adoption of the report, said that since ita commencement £920,000 had been paid in dividends, £180,000 to reserve fund, and £100,000 written off. The balance sheet showed the deposits and circulation to be £6,180,000, including one _ million and a half of the four million loan. A banquet is to be given to Mr Thomson, member for Clutha, on Friday- Sir George Grey, Mr Fitzherbert, Mr Bolleaton, and all the Otago members who voted against abolition are invited as guests of the Clutha settlers. Mr Murray has kindly telegraphed that he will attend.
