(From the Otago Daily Times.) AUCKLAND, Jan 21. The B.s. City of Melbourne arrived at 8 o'clock to-night. She left Sydney on the 16th inst., and had a fine passage. Melbourne, Jan 16. The members of the Ministry are to proceed in the steamer Victoria tomorrow for a week's trip, and will probably visit Tasmania. Mary Sheers has been committed for trial on a charge of unskilful treatment of a case of childbirth. The International Commission agree with the Victorian Commissioners as to united action relative to the Philadelphia Exhibition. They affirm that one of the chief advantages to be obtained by this Colony will be a knowledge of laborBaying machinery, and that therefore it is desirable to send agents to collect information. They ask the Government for £4000. Tbe balance-sheet of tbe Adelaide Marine Assurance Company last half-year shows over £7000 net profit. The directors recommended a dividend of Is Gd per share. Mr Kilsbury'a long-lost child was found in a swamp at Mingpool, Mount Gambier. A stone found in Torren9 Gorge is declared by a Melbourne lapidist to be a white sapphire. Wheat is easier, 3s lid to 4s ,• flour quiet at £9 15a to £12 6s. The ship Denamore is being loaded with breadstuff's for Great Britain. BitiSßAjri:, Jan 14. A. meeting of subscribers to the School of Arts resolved, by a large majority, to continue opening the institution on Sunday afternoons.
