To our numerous Constituents, — WHILE bringing before our friends intimation of the signal success of our endeavors to place Invercargill on the same footing as other chief towns of New Zealand, by direct importation from Horne — giving a most important desideratum, as it does—the guarantee of genuineness of all Patent Medicines, &c, vended at our establishment (which, by recent information , is more and more necessury, it being well known j that many fictitious Patent Medicines are being wiade in the neighboring Colonies by unscrupulous persons, and venrlnd through agents in this, as well as all other large centres of population, through the medium of unwary storekeepers, hawkers, &c.) can confidently be relied upon. It should be remembered that while working for the interests of the community in this particular, it can only be rendered still moro successful by the units of population each assisting, so that the consumption may bo more and J more concentrated, and greater facilities placed in the possession of those who are working out the problem of self-reliance, and actually helping | those who live around us, instead of being completely dependent upon others,, who must reap a I large intermediate profit, which is always invested J elsewhere, instead of in our midst. j We, therefore, whilst intimating that we have several fresh direot shipments coming forward, commend these matters to careful consideration, believing as we do that we will deserve your increased support, and returning thanks for that already received, we would draw your attention to the following facts, Subscribing ourselves, JOSEPH HATCH & CO.
