WASTE LANDS BOARD.
THTTBSjDAY, jANtTAEY 14 Present—The Chief Commissioner, and Messrs Mitchell and Wood. APPLICATIONS FOB LAND. Mr D. L. Matheson, on behalf of Adam Fleming, applied for 100 acres, being section 27 , block 2, M bel Hundred. Granted. Arthur Henderson applied for 100 acres, being part of the Waikiwi Bush reserve, fronting sections 6 and 10, block 15. Application refused, the land being a reserve. Joseph Fos binder applied for 1400 acres, being all that portion of land krown as the Wuikiwi Bush reserve. Refused. An application by Mr George Trew for 140 acres in the same reserve, was also refused, on the same ground, namely, that the land appliod for was a reserve. Hu»h Harris obtained 100 acres in Winto'n Hundred. Mr D. L. Matheson appeared, asking the Board, on behalf of Alexander M'Donald, whether Mr M'Donald could not now obtain 16 acres, part of his present holding, section 43, block 1, Lindhurst Hundred. It hud been a reßervc, and the Board, though M'Donald had applied for it at the beginning, coul.l not sell it to him along with the rest of the section. They had, howeve. 1 , in order to give the applicant a chance of getting it, advertised it for sale after the übuil manner, but Mr MDjuald had not seen the advert sement. The Board ruled ' that the land would have to be re-advertised, ■ the sale to take place on Mondiy, 15th February. , It was resolved that until further notico the ; Board should only meet once a week— every , Thursday. - The Board then adjourned. '
