Rules and Regulations. No entries will be received for any of the Races except upon these conditions, that all claims and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or a majority of them, whose decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of the abovß programme shall be final. In the event of any person entering a protest, a sum of £2 2s must be lodged with the Secretarj, or one of the Stewards, before any such protest is considered 5 this sum to be forfeited to the funds of the Club Bhould the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. Rules of the Dunedin Jockey Club strictly adhered to. No person will be allowed to enter or run a horse unless the latter be qualified as the bona fide property of a subscriber of two guineas to the race fund. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross moneys paid in accordance with the programme for expenses. All entries must be sealed and addressed to the Stewards or Secretary (entrance money enclosed), with name, age, pedigree of the horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. Three horses to be entered, or no public money will be added. Any horse walking over will only receive 50 per cent, of the stake. No jockey allowed to ride except in the colors entered. Entries must be made to the stewards, and addressed to the Prince of Wales Hotel, Invercargill, before the hour of 8 o'clock p.m. of Saturday, 6th February, 1875. Handicaps will be declared on Monday, the Bth, at 8 o'clock p.m., except for the second day's races, which will be declared on the evening of Thursday, the llth February, 1875, at the Prince of Wales Hotel, at 8 p.m. All dogs found on the oourse will be destroyed! Racing will commence each day at 12 o'clock. Ifgf No horse will be allowed to train on the Racecourse, except upon a payment of a fee of £1 to the Secretary, who will issue tickets of admission. YOUNG CHAMPION was bred by R. Q. Kerraode, Esq., of Tasmania, and was imported to Southland in 1868. His dam was the famous mare Rose, which carried off a number of prizes against all comers at the leading shows in England and Scotland. Young Champion is a bright bluck, stands 161 hands high, with flat bone, and great muscular power. His stock is well-known in the Southland district, where one of his two-year old colts carried off the first prize at the last show of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association. Tebms— Thbee Guineas.
