Eclipses. In the year 1875 there will bo two Eclipses, both of the Sun, neither of which will be visible m New Zealand. The first takes place on April sth, Greenwich mean time; the line of simple contact in this Eclipse skirts the Northern Coast of Australia. The second occurs September 28 29. The Southern line of simple contact, 10 or 12 degrees south of the Cape of Good Hop c. New Zeaiand Mean Time, Which has been adopted throughout the Colony since November 2, 1868, corresponds to longitude 170deg. 30min. E., being exactly 12* hours in advance of Greenwich time.
