Good Templarisin is spreading-rlpidty, * The Auckland journals comment favorably on Mr Ruaseli's new; proposals for a San Francisco mail service via Kandavau, to be subsidised by New South "Wales and New Zealand conjointly, and to-be commenced within twelve months. The boats are to be of 2000 tons register, and are to make 13 round trips per annum. Tbe ports of terminus and departure are to be Sydney and Dunedin alternately. The coat to New Zealand will be £28,000,. but this will be subject to reduction by the half of any contributions received from the other colonies. Mr Saundere reports buyers of South British Insurance shares at 435 ; Caledonians, 2655 ; National Bank, 355. Several families and single men, immigrants per Berar, are destitute, the Government haying stopped their rations. Great complaints are made of the want of accommodation and lax discipline.
