A NUMBER of Christian friends in the home country, who have attentively observed with the highest satisfaction the unswerving devotedness to Christian principle which has characterised the public and private life of the Rev. Professor Kirk in his all but herculean labors in the cause of God and man, for upwards of 30 years, feel desirous of giving an expression of their high esteem for him, and appreciation of these labors, by the presentation of a Testimonial. Mr Kirk being widely known •' throngh his writings as an able and fearless exponent of a free unfettered Gospel, available for all mankind, and also as an uncompromising advocate of the principles of Total Abstinence, it is believed there are many friends in the Colonies who would be much gratified by having an opportunity of contributing to this Testimonial. .In order to give such friends this opportunity, the Committee have appointed agents to receive subscriptions in America, India, and the Australian Colonies.' Friends in Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand are respectfully requested to communicate with Mr Daved Bokthbon, Dee-street, Invercargill, N.Z., (by whom ; all subscriptions, will be forwarded to Bailie Lewis, Treasurer, Edinburgh,) who will give any farther . information that may be desired.
