COMMERCIAL.
Mr D. Macbobte, Auctioneer, reports his sale of farm stock at West Waikivi on Wednesday, 13tb, as having been well attended, and all offered sold. The cattle were an exceptionally fine lot, and, considering the state of the market, brought satisfactory prices. They may be quoted as follows :— Prime milch cows, springing, at £7 10s to £8 ; good do, £5 ; heifers brought as high as £4 10s ; and calves, weaners, up to £2 10s. The other descriptions of stock also sold well. One sow in pig fetched £3 10s ; half-^rown pigs, 80s each. Oats in stack, sold at 2s 3d per bushel, vendor to thrasK. Potatoes in ground would not sell; passed at £7 per acre. A nearly new chaff machine, by Richardson and Chandler, No. 60, bronght £7 ss ; other implements at fair worth.
