QUEENSLAND.
Bkisbaxe, Feb. 9. The Hon Mr Macalister, Minister for Public Works, bad the show of hands at the nomination for the Eastern Downs. His opponent, Mr Davenport, demanded a poll. Mr J. Warry, senr., has been drowned at Gladstone whilst landing from the steamer James Patterson.
