Today transactions have been inconsiderable, the attention of the trade having been taken up with the auction sales going forward. We note the market for breadstuffs as quiet, but possessing a „.. rather better tone. Millers are at present, parting with but little flour, and decline, to alter quotations for the sake of inducing larger sales. Tim- ' for, ex Ada, to arrive, is reported as placed at fur prices, and some moderate lines of teas and sugars have been quitted at fair prices. At Messrs M'Landress, Hepburn and Co.'s rooms, a large quantity . of .merchandise waß offered. -Among the staple goods quitted were Cramp's sherry, 28s ; Sinclair's hams and bacon (guaran- . teed), Is; Waiter's ports, £5 2s 6d to £s 10s per - qr-cask ; Dawson's stout, 6s 3d ; Bridge's stout, 6s ; Hennessy'B brandy (case), 27s 6d ; also, with all faults, sugar candy, 7|d ; scented soaps, 295 ; ginger wine, 235 ; dried apples, 2fd ; Sin- - «bir'shams, 10} d; and butter, at 2£d to 2fd; colonial hams and bacon, Bfd ; light weight cornsackfl, 10s 9d.
