Auckland from Dunedin — Cabin : "Vtessrs M'Oulloch, Jewell, Gill, De Beer, Murchie, Esgate, Brown, and iive in steerage. Per Auckland for Melbourne — Cabin : Mr Cullender, and ten in steerage.
■ The 8.8. Auckland, left Wellington on her Southern trip on Thursday last, at 4 p.m. arriving at Lyttelton at noon on the following day. Left Port Cooper at 2 p.m. an Saturday, and made Port Chalmers on Sunday at 7 p.m; sailed again at 2 o'clock on Monday afternoon, and arrived at the Bluff on Tuesday morning early. She experienced fine weather throughout. The brig Heather Bell left Newcastle on 28th March with fine weather ; on the second Hay out encountered a heavy gale from N.W. to S.W., which, continued for nine days ; — the ship during this time wa3 hove to under closed reefed maintopsail. On the 31st the gale increased to a complete hurricane, with a tremenduous sea. Had fine weather during the remaining part of the voyage, and arrived at the Bluff on the morning of the 14th, and was berthed alongside the wharfsame afternoon.
