HOKITIKA.

The "West Coast Times" of 9th inst. reports: — We have very little change to note in the import market for the week current. Supplies, intercolonial and coastwise, show a less aggregate than we have had to chronicle recently — the "regular traders" from Victoria and Sydney keeping time so well as a rule that a few days blank cannot, we think, be detrimental, but in fevor of local markets. Stocks held are not heavy ; there is a disposition to buy, the market continues settled. Spirits are without alteration, the receipts during the week being light. Ale in bulk English sound, finds a good market. Beer in glass is neglected. Oilmen's stores are as last quoted. Flour has met with more attention ; the higher rates ruling in Adelaide and Victoria have to some extent affected this market; the arrival of the Sir Isaac Newton, from Adelaide, trith a full cargo of flour and bran, has not depressed the market, indeed had this addition to our Btocks not come forward so opportunely a more decided advance was inevitable. The bulk of the cargo of {he Sir Isaac Newton is held for £17. Bran, 2a. Provisions continue in good demand, at better rates — hams (Sinclair's) Is 6d ; bacon, Is sd ; Varey's, and other good brands, are freely taken. Butter. — Prime Wellington, scarce; the supply in the market from Victoria, Sydney, and other localities, though not short, not so good in quality as has recently come forward — attributed to the dry season — prime these being Melbourne prices. Stocks low. Is 5d to Is 6d. Candleß.— N.S., Is 5d to Is 6d, Advance anticipated. In teas and sugars there is no alteration, the tendency upwards being in favor of the latter.
