The directors of the Bank of England have abstained from making any change in the rate of discount. The ' announcement created no sur-■ni-isp. and consequently did not effect the Stook Markets. The following is the official report of business on the Stock Exchange : — Three per cent. Consols for money, 89£, 89, £ ; ditto, for account, Sept. 8, 89i ; Three per Cents. Reduced, 88f i ; New Three per Dems. 88i, f ; Bank Stock 242 ; India Stock, 211# ; ditto, Five per Cent. Stock, 104£ ; Four per Cent. " enfaced " rupee paper, 92 ; Excheqaer Bills, 255. to 15s. discount. The ship Spitfire has been engaged for the conYey&nce of emigrants to Adelaide.
