The Ashburfon. with 250 head of cattlp nnd fourf horses, left Twofold Bay on the 18rh of October, and arrived at the Bluff on the 30th, after a protracted passage of twelve days. The cattle consist of fine store and working bullocks — a great boon for this market. The Vbrtigern, with 5000 sheep, left Melbourne on tbe 16th October, and cleared Port Phillip Heads on Saturday the 17th. She experienced very light winds and ealms until entering the Straits, when she was met with heavy easterly gales. She arrived at the Bluff on the .evening of the 2Dth, having lost on the passage about 300 sheep. The Alhambra- ariived at this port on the i morning 1 of the 30th instant, landing 50 passengers .' for the Province of Southland, after a fine rim of j five days from Melbourne. Sho returns to this ; port from . Dunedin on Monday, 2nd November • and leaves early on Tu sday morning. The Storm Bird left Port Phillip Heads onthe! .13th Oct. in company with the Ellen Simffcn, \ and experienced strong N E and Easterly gales \ arrived in the New River on Friday, but on ; account of wind -was obliged to wait in the river; until next day, when she reached the wharf with ' her cargo direct froin Melbourne.
