ROUTE FROM VICTORIA TO THE LAKE GOLDIIELDS.

(From the Wakatip Mail.) The shortest' route is via Invercargill, which is at least, one day nearer Victoria than Dunedin. The steamers Gothenburg and Edina call regularly at Invercargill, and the Aldinga- and \Omeo at .the -Bhiff, which is distant from town 20 miles. Fromlnvercar--gill the North Road is followed, beginning at . Dee-street. About four~and a half miles from town the road turns to the left, and . thence feWinton Bush the dray track- shotild be kept, tlienjthe Survey Line to the River Oreti, andjrom thence the dray teach sJiould ' be kept .to the foot of the Lake.
