THOS. S. WESTON, Solicitor to the Trustees. Dated the 10th day of October, 1863, TO THE PRESBYTERIANS OF TOE PROVINCE OF SOUTHLAND. IT is notor'ons that whilst .our population baa been increasing with astonishing rapidity, the provision for its spiritual welfare has been all T but stationary. There is at the present moment nn urgent demand for at least four additional Presbyterian ministers. At the recent meeting of Presbytery, I brought our wants before their "notice, and a plan for remedying them, which was sanctioned. This plan consists :ia raising a: fund ia Southland for paying the passages of additional ministers for Southland, to be landed at the Bluff, and to officiate in the first instance in our vacancies. I have been authorised to write home for three or four additional ministers." ; T believeisuitablc men will readily be procured from the various Presbyterian Churches;; but it is indispensably ( necessary that we raise funds to. bring .them to our shores. Tnis is the reason for my presentjppeal. The harvest truly is great and. ever increasing ; lot all who love the Lord .Jesus, and tho souls of men, contribute as God liath. prbspered them> and the work will be done atonce.' ' Mr Geisowhaskindly consented toact as General Treasurer. District Collectors will be appointed, and no sums will be recorded but those that are paid to the Treasurer. >-. ■;..;.:. vi_. ■ ANDREW; H.
