COMME RCI AL INTELLIGENCE.

" Inveecargill Times " Opfce, Thursday Evening. A commercial article in the present stagnart ! state of oflairs, is almost a work of supererogation. Weekly, there is but the same burthen— j nothing new. Of the past week we can say little j else. With the Lake no business has been done, while in town, trade has been partially swamped , by the cxtonsrve sale held by Messrs. Carey J and Gilles, on Monday and Tuesday last at Colin N. Campbell and Cos., store. At this sale the pricra received were in some cases eEtr-enaely high. So far as imports are concerned, poods have ceased coming in — the vessels at present in port having been for the most part discharged. We believe there only remain some SO tons to bo landed, in the customs sense of the term. In piJcesc-arront there has been no variation. Runholders and stock and station agents will be interested in the following information and quotations of the London wool market: — The next London wool sales commence on the 30th April, the arvivals to date consisting of Sydney, 10.629: P..rt Phillip, 33.485 ; Van Diemen's Land, 2.562 ; Adelaide, 17.701; New Zealand, 2.069; Swan River, 1,000; Cape, 5,694— total. 73,131 bales ; which, with vessels daily expected, may be inc-eased to 95,000 bales. The import from Port Phillip alone may reach 43,000 bales. It is expected that the sales will open with a large attendance of buyers, both home and foreign and that the reduction in price may be thus anticipated:—On Sydney, Id tol^dperlb; on Port Phillip, good to extra, l£d to 21 per lb ; ordinary to good. Id to 21 : on other descriptions, id to ljd. — Some 'News, 27th April.
