To Naval Seamen and Soldiers.-^_^_M sent to or by seamen and soldiers in Her D^^| service will be transmitted within the Coli-^^H between the colony orany pbst-uffice inih^^B dominions, at a charge of one penny, provi^^H the following regulations are observed :—^^B letter must not exceed half an ounce.in^^B 2. It must be superscribed j-with the nam^^H writer, his disposition or class in the vessel^^B ment, and signed by the officer at the time^H mand. 3. The postage must be pre-paid.-^^H letter of this description, posted or receivc^^H Colony, not in accordance with the foregoi^^H ation, will be treated as an ordinary lettet^^| 9. Free Letters.—Letters on the publii^^H of Her Majesty's Naval and Military For^H exempted from the payment of.postage, if the words, " On Her Majesty's Service,"' i*^^| signature of the officer in command of the^^f the service of which the letter is despatche^^B such letters camiot be transmitted by any i^^| route, or one entailing additional expense^^H Colonial Government. Letters on the put^^| vice of the General Government of the col^^H transmitted free by post, if bearing the^^f " On the Public Service only,"' and the si-^^H of some officer of the General Government^^B rised to frank official letters. J___| 10. Begistered Letters.—^Registration in addition to the ordinary postage charge^^H any other. Except in special cases, as c*^^| in table subjoined. BOOK PACKETS. 1. To any part of tbe colony, or to the Kingdom via Southampton:—Not exceedu^H 4d; exceeding *4 oz, and hot exceeding 8 exceeding 8 oz, and not- exceeding 16 oz,^H and soon, increasing, eight pence for eyei-^H tional half-pound, or fraetiqn pf,half:a-ppui^H 2. To. the following British colonies—As<^H Bermuda, British West, Indies'; Canada, <^H Good Hope, Falkland Islands, Gambia^H Coast, Eeligoland, lonian Islands, Nata^H Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova; Scotia,~^H Edward Island, St. Helena, Sierra Leonc^H couver's Island:—Not exceeding 4 oz, yd; -^H mg 4 oz, and not exceeding 8 oz, ls2d'; ex^H 8 oz, and not exceeding 16 oz, 2s 4d; and^H increasing one shilling' and twopence fo^H half-pound, or fraction of half-a-pouhd. '' Prepayment by Stamps.—-All letters;* and newspapers posted in New Zealand, prepaid by affixing postage labels of the ct^H sufficient value.
