(To the Editor of the Invercargill Times.) Sir, —Times indeed must be bad, when newspaper proprietors allow their columns to be filled up with such extraordinary trasb. and inconceivable effusions as that published in your last issue, and signed by a " certain " Donald Maekay, Would it not be more profitable to the public generally, and to yourself in particular, to insert instead a few pages of " Household Words," or extracts from the tfld far-fetched Joe Miller. Yours in disgust, CIVIiISATIOK. Tay-street, Invercargill.
