Great North Road.— Constructing balkTray, with sidings complete, at every 20 chains between Waiopai Bridge and the Saw Mills, at per chain ; also, constructing between one and two miles of balkway between north end of Waikivi Bush Rnd Makcrewa Bridge ; and gravelling about three miles. Invercargiil Jetty. — Laying double line of tramway on jetty, building goods warehouse, and constructing roadways, as per specification to be seen at the office of the Provincial Engineer. Gaol and Hospital Rations, Inoerca-rgill. — Tenders will be received at this office till nnon of Thursdry, tho 26th inst., for supplying meat to 22nd June, 1863, in such, quantities and at such times as may be required. Superintendent's Office, Southland, 13th March, 18G3. ■yHE Government of Southland being I about to issue instructions to the Home Agents to lay on a Vessel from the Olyle direct for the Bluff, with immigrants, the attention of parties interested in the Poovince is director! to the following sub-section 4, of clause Ist, of Instructions to Immigration Agents: — "4. Any persons residing in the province of Southland, deshous of assisting their friends in the United Kingdom to immigrate to the province, may obtain for them assisted passages hither by drawing a bill for the full amount of the passage - money to the order of the Provincial Treasurer of Southland, accepted by a substantial householder, also resident in the province, and approved of by the Superintendent as sufficient security for the same. The drawer of any such bill will then receive an order to tho Immigration Agent, authorising him to give a free passage to the Province of Southland to any person or persons named therein ; and any residents in Southland will be able to assist their friends to immigrate to the Province by undertaking to repay the whole of the passage-money in the manner above provided." Bills will be made out at the rate of £15 10s per statute adult. Applications must be made at this office before the 12th dav of April next. By order, 11. A. GILLER, Clerk to the Superintendent. HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that a Heward of One Thousand Pounds will be paid to any party who shall discover a paying gold field within twelve months from the date hereof, conditionally upon the discoverer or discoverers giving satisfactory proof to the Government that Sixteen Thousand Ounces of Gold, the bona Me produce of that particular field (being within the Province of Southland) shall have been realized and brought to Invercargiil within twelve months from the date of discovery thereof.
