Doings of the Confederate Pirate Alabama.— Boston, Oct. 2!) — The barqueAzor, Jonas, arrived in this port yesterday, brings the crews of the vessels recently destroyed by the Confederate steamer Alabama, alias " 290." They were conveyed from Fiores to Fayal and thence they came to Boston in the Azor. The following are the names of the vessels destroyed: — The ship Octmulgce, the ship Benjamin Tucker, the barque Ocean Rover, the barque Alert, the schooner Altamaha, the schooner Courser, the schooner Starlight, and the schooner Weather Guage. New York, Oct. 82. — The Dreadnought arrived here from Liverpool after making a long detour to the northward, in order to avoid the attentions of Captain Sommes and the Alabama. Captain Samuels had heard of the boast of the commander of the Alabama while in England, and although admiring his taste, determined to disappoint him, and in consequence came out. of the North Channel, and made an extremely northern passage, coasting along Greenland, Newfoundland, and Lon<r Island. We have it from good authority that our American packets, liaving emigrant passengers on board, are in no danger from Confederate privateers as an understanding to that effect was had between the owners of the "290" and her captajn.
