Parcels of gold, both from the new diggings on the Wakatip and the Dunstan, are finding their way into town. We have been shown some very fine samples, but until thereturn of the escort we do not expect to sec any very considerable amount offered for sale. A perusal of our correspondent's letter from the Dunstan will furnish proof that no time is to be lost in making good such parts of our road to the Lake as require it. Otago will do all she can to command the traffic from the Lake diggings. We will make no comment on the intelligence received from " our own correspondent' 1 on Lake Wakatip : it speaks for itself. Accompanying his letter is a rough map of the latest discoveries on the Lake. The creek at the foot of the Devil's Staircase appears to be auriferous, also a place on the -west coistof the Lake, near Half-way Bay. Our renders will, for the future, bo regularly furnished with a report from the Wakatip.
