Extensive speculations have lately taken place in cotton, jute, hemp, and fl-iJf, in consequence of the deficiency of the supply of en. on. A Dr. tlarben has discovered a substitute for cotton, which is being practically tried-~namely 1 j the marine plant Zostera marina, or comra in grass w rack.
