24th NovKMKKn, 1862. TIDES. High water at Bluff Harbor at full and change, 1-40 j range four to eight feet. High water at New River Heaile one hour sooner ; there is, bowever very littlo difference between the time of high vrater at the head of tho Bluff and the jetty at Invorcargill.

The schooner Prompt, four days out, Captain Garson, from Dunedin, ex lerienced heavy southwest gales during the passage, having been driven back to Cape Sanders several times; she was comjelled to put into Bluff harbor, through stress ol weather, on Friday evening last.
