Moved by Mr. Mitchell-." That a depu tntion wait on his Honor the Superintendent, to enquire the intention of the Go'ernmeni tpgarding- the Esplanade." Seconded by Mr. Greive. — Carried. The Chairman read a communication frun Mr. Miller, in relation lo the Cenetery. Ihe Clerk, in answer to a question, said he lad received no communication in referent io a piece of giound for a new Cem-tery. Thf Board then proceeded to open the tender for ditching Ythan-street. Thi lowesttenders were from Lawrence Shaw and Patrick Minton, each of them 12--». pei chain. Mr. Girtliwaite moved — "That the work be divide! between Shaw and Minton, the former tating the east side and the latter the west site of the street." Secondei by Mr. Greive. — Curried. ' The Boaid then took into consideration ! an offer on tie ptirt of the former contrac- 1 tors t /r fencing the Cemetery (contact lapsed), to p't on tbe ground for the sum of £HA) thevholeof the necessary materials After sane conversation on the very unsuitable natireof the present site, Mr. Mitchell moved— "That the Clerk be instructed tohl'orm the contractors that they are to place all the materials on the ground." Seconded by M-. Greive. — Carried. The ChntriMn read a letter received from Jam s Wright, swing that his work in Don-street was comr>leted. Air Mitchell mover!— " That the Clerk he instructed to in-.pect said work, and pay contractor, proviJine the specification lias been complied w th." Seconded by Mr. M Ivor. — Carried The Clerk was instrrict-'d to wait on hi.*; Hon-'i- the Superintended, to enquirt what time would he most convenient for receiving the deputation appointed to ascertain the intention of the Government in reference to the Ksplanade. .'! ? Clerk was i"'V-icttd to pet the outfull drain in Spey street deepened, so a« efficiently to carry off the water. Mr, Steele's account was ordered to be ])-i ; d. Moved by Mr Garthwait*— " That all advertisements of the Town Board he insetted in ho h the newspapers." Seconded by Mr. Mitchell —Carried. Mr. Garth wai te drew the Attention of the Board to the danger aiisinp from a tent with a wooden chimney, situated nt the back of Messrs. Manin-j and Whitfon's stores, in Ksk -street. There was some conversation on the subject, but nothing definite was determined on. The Board adjourned at 5 p ni.
