GOLF NOTES.

SEPTEMBER MEDAL. On Saturday the September medal match was played and resulted in a win for* Miss Saxon and Mrs Saxon (tied) and Mr Jones, all of whom returned specially good cards. The ground was hard and dry and the greens in good order, hut the grass on the fairways is growing rapidly and another week’s goilf will probably see the end of the season soi far as the ideal club is concerned. It has been decided to close the season next Saturday when two teams picked by J. Murray and B. Spencer will play a match. Players are requested to be on the ground by 1 p.m. in order' that, the picking of the teams may take place and the match commenced by 1.15 p.in. A trophy has been offered for the best card of the day, while trophies are being donated respectively for the longest drive, longest put, and the longest approach on to the green during the match.
