Received 1.10 a.m., January Ist. r, t ... PARIS, December 31. i ekm telegrams which have been reccivea m Paris state that Ching informed Ministers that the Emperor accepts' their terms, and asks for a suspension of hostilities. He wishes, to return to Pekin at the end of February.
THE COURT ACCEPTS THE POWERS’ TERMS.
SEVERE PRESS CRITICISM ON THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF.
Received 1.45 a.m., January Ist. i _ LONDON, December 31. Tne - Dailiy News’” Shanghai correspondent states that Li Hung Chang has telegraphed to Sheng, director of telegraphs and one of the peace envoys,.that the Count accepted the Powers’ terms, and authorised him to sign a preliminary treaty. The “ Times’ ” Pekin correspondent states that Count Von Waldersee’s harshness towards innocent Chinese, the constant practice of extorting contributions, and his frequent breaches of his promises is injuring the reputation of the Allies and producing a condition of unrest, affording a pretext for the continuance of hostile occupation. He urges that the British troops be removed from Count Waldersee’s command, since the British officers are never consulted.

The Dowager Empress’s alleged enthroning of a new Emperor is regarded in Berlin as an attempt to deceive the Allies and protract the negotiations. Five foreign expeditions are operating under Count Von Waldersee’s orders.
IMPORTANT CAPTURE BY GERMANS
Received 11.8 p.m., January Ist LONDON, January 1. * The Germans captured Senancheu, large supplies of war material, and many Krupp and Maxim guns. Mr Conger confirms the Emperor’s acceptances of the Powers’ demand.
