The other day John Fisher was shot dead nine miles from Wagin, West Australia. Fisher had been reported to the police as a dangerous lunatic, and a constable, with an assistant, went out to bring him to the township. He refused to accompany the constable, and threatened to kill the two. The constable produced a revolver to awe Fisher, who seized the weapon, which exploded. The bullet entered Fisher’s stomach, and he died within an hour.
