Geraldine County Council.

The annual meeting of the Geraldine County Council was held yesterday at noon. Present—Messrs J. Talbot (chairman), J. McCaskill, A. Kelman, and Dr Dislop. Apologies for absence owing to shearing were received from Messrs Dennistoun, Hamilton, and B. R. Macdonald. The chairman made a statement of the approximate assets and liabilities up to March 31st, 1901, showing balance of £3Sf 8s 9d, and thanked members for the courtesy to him during his term of office. Mr Talbot was re-elected chairman of the Council.

Messrs J. Talbot and B. R. Macdonald were re-elected members of the High School Board, and Mr J. Talbot and Colonel Moore of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. This terminated the meeting.

At an ordinary meeting of members after the annual meeting, it was agreed to rescind the resolution re Fleming Bros’, breach of traction engine by-law and stay proceedings provided they paid the half-yearly license at once and stopped carting.
