As arranged the Timaru Rowing Club got off two more races last evening. The weather was the most variable which the club have so far had, a strong southerly wind blowing and raising a choppy beam sea. In the first heat the crews stroked by Perks and Parr respectively met, and after a slashing race, Perks gradually drew away in the home run and gained the verdict by half a length. In the second heat H. Fraser’s crew was too good for J. South’s, winning easily by a couple of lengths. The semi-finals will be rowed off without delay. AUTHENTIC MEDICAL OPINIONS WORTH KNOWING—Dr Osborne says—“l use SANDER AND SONS EUCALYPTI EXTRACT as spray for nasal catarrh, low fever, asthma, etc., with great success. I find this preparation superior to all others.” Dr Stahl:—“l have used various preparations of Eucalvptus, but I get better results from SANDER AND SONS EUCALYPTI EXTRACT than from any other.” Dr Preston:—“l never use any Eucalyptus preparation other than SANDER AND SONS,’ as I foum 1 others to be almost useless.” Dr Hart;—“lt goes without saving that SANDER AND SONS EUCALYPTI EXTRACT is the best in the market.” In influenza, all fevers, throat and lung trouble, diphtheria, diarrhoea, dysentery, kidney complaints, rheumatism, wounds, sprains, ulcers, etc., it is invaluable. There were present Dr Barclay (chairman), and Messrs Cameron, Jones, O’Connor, Coltman, Dean, Sinclair, Inkster, and Philp. The report of the park-keeper was read. Everything was reported to be in good order in the park. He recommended protective works for the Waimate creek, near the east side of the park, where the late floods had encroached on the banks and adjacent lands. Mr Costello’s land near the creek had been much damaged, and the park fence was in great danger from the next heavy floods. It was resolved that protective works be executed, and that the County Council be asked to allow thenengineer to examine the creek at the place mentioned, and report as to protective works. ‘‘Cromwell Argus,” October 20th, 1891, says:—“Messrs Qawne and Co. have favoured us with samples of their Worcestershire Sauce. As to the sauce, one of many Worcesters in the field, we may say that its flavour is as good as its piquancy is pronounced. Altogether a well-balanced relish, which is supplied to the public at a price that no Worcester of equal merit has hitherto Been sold.—Adrt.
