A London paper of recent date, referring to an association of the Portland cement makers of England, says : —Some thirty firms are directly bought up, all situated on the Thames and Medway, and a, working arrangenientTias been entered into for three or four years longer with another four firms, the total representing about 89 per cent, of the cement producing capacity of businesses situated on these two rivers.
