At the sixth Smith yas on terms, and drawing out had a lead of two yards at the ninth hurdle and the race well in hand, but here Rosengrave fell leaving Smith to finish by himself. He registered 15 3-sseo., but unfortunately owing to the crowd rushing the ground the third official time-keeper was interfered with and could not snap the time, thus losing Smith the honour of an Australasian record to which he is justly entitled, as the other two watches hit him off to a tick, and * outside watches corroborated them. Rosengrave’s long jump is also a fresh record for this colony.
