He lost his temper and killed them, and nothing after that. Afterwards he arranged to say that the wife and Joe were not present at the murders,

Sir W. Lyne, in reply to a question, stated that certain communications had passed in regard to State Governors and the appointment of Chief Justices to the post. So far as he could see no local man would get the appointment. Received 9.45 p.m., November 23rd. APPLICATION REFUSED.
The Court declined to grant O’Ha.an's application for an attachment agains: the newspaper. The Judge held that the writer had no intention to piejuTcc the case. It was unnecessary to impose any penalty beyond the costs of the proceedings.
THE VICTORIAN RIFLE ASSOCIA TTON’S MEETING.

At the Victorian Ride Association’s meeting, the Queen’s Prize was won by Corpewal Carter, of Geelong, with 304 points. Sergeant-Major Whitehead, of Bendigo, was second with 299 points. THE HARLECH CASTLE.

THE RENTOUL DISTURBANCE
After a lengthy sitting in private, the Presbyterian Assembly decided to discuss Professor Rentoul’s convenorship of the public questions committee. Professor Rentoul vehemently protested and resigned his seat on all committees. At a later stage Dr Marshall placed himself in the hands of the Assembly, which’practically means the withdrawal of his resignation.
SERIOUS FIRE,
PERTH, November 23.
A serious fire has, occurred at Seabrook. Over 10,000 acres of grass were destroyed. There was great damage to the crops.
TRUTH STRANGER THAN FICTION. It has been discovered that a certain “ Major Pelly,” who held a position under the Government Geologist, is identical with Gordon alias Starlight, the bushranger. Gordon had appropriated family papers belonging to Pelly entrusted to his care, and has since masqueraded as a military officer.
