The Wool Sales.

Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, November 22. At the first wool sale of the season, today, 2500 bales were satalogued, but only about 2000 bales were sold. There was a large attendance of buyers, the principal operators being representatives of the wool leu factories and fellmongers, whose com petition caused prices to be rather bettei than was generally anticipated, but manj growers refused to accept them. The wool was in very good condition. The range oi prices was ; —Slipe merino, 7d to 8d ; greasj merlon. 6d to 7d; quarter-bred, 7-Jd; halfbred, to 7|d ; crossbred, 4d to 6Jd ; halfbred and crossbred pieces, 3d to locks, 2d to 2^d.
