The Waimate School Committee met last Tuesday, when there were present Messrs Taylor (chairman), Petit, Mann, Watts, and Cameron. The headmaster was also present. The Education Board wrote re representatives on the Board, and it was decided to support the Waituna Committee’s nominee, Mr Beckett, Ihe High School Board wrote statins that the Board would grant £3O towards the formation of a cadet corps if the Committee would raise an equal sum, Consideration of this was held over, Miss Crawford was granted leave of absence on account of illness. Mr H. G, Wake resigned his position. The inspector’s report was read, and it was resolved to write to the staff expressing the Committee’s approval of the excellent results. Visitors were appointed, and the meeting ended.
