SHOOTING.

The members of the Timaru Port Guards fired on Wednesday for the Hon. W. Hall-Jones’ first competition and a trophy presented by Mr J. Shepherd as a secdud prize. The competition was won by Sergeant G. Beckingham, Sergeant VV. Hathaway being second. The conditions were 10 shots at 300 yards. Ihe following are a few of the highest scores:—
