A letter was received from Timaru extending an invitation to the association to hold the contest in that town next year, and it was unanimously resolved to accept the invitation. It was intimated by the Timaru representative that the probable date of the contest would be some time early in October next. It was decided to recommend Timaru committee to make it a condition that bands taking part in the selection pieces must compete in the quickstep to qualify. It was also decided to represent to the Timaru committee the desirability of confining the solo competition to members of competing bands only.
